I am incorporating Christmas traditions from Transylvanian Siebenburgen Saxons, Burgenlanders and Lithuanian heritages.  I recently visited Transylvania with my Mother Maria who was born there in 1939.  It was her first trip home in 70 yrs.  My Father was  born in Burgenland Austria and my Husband's parents were born in Lithuania.

WHITE SALAD
(Balta Misraine)

I haven't noticed any post of a picture or recipe of white salad (balta misraine)(and please correct me if I am wrong). This recipe is not only very easy but it is very popular in Lithuania. No celebration table is complete without this dish. Plus, I absolutely love it!

You will need:
Potatoes, boiled, 5 units of
Carrots, cooked, 2 pieces
preserved peas, 100 grams of
pickled cucumbers, 2 pieces
eggs, 2 pieces (this is however, optional as many people choose not to use eggs for this salad)
Salt, to taste
Black pepper, ground, to taste
Mayonnaise, to taste

Preparation:
Cooking time:
Dice the carrots, potatoes, cucumbers, eggs. Stir in peas, Season with salt and pepper, add the mayonnaise, stir and eat. Enjoy it!
