WHITE SALAD
(Balta Misraine)by Vaida Smilgeviciute Okafor
I
haven't noticed any post of a picture or recipe of white salad (balta
misraine)(and please correct me if I am wrong). This recipe is not only
very easy but it is very popular in Lithuania. No celebration table is
complete without this dish. Plus, I absolutely love it!
You will need:
Potatoes, boiled, 5 units of
Carrots, cooked, 2 pieces
preserved peas, 100 grams of
pickled cucumbers, 2 pieces
eggs, 2 pieces (this is however, optional as many people choose not to use eggs for this salad)
Salt, to taste
Black pepper, ground, to taste
Mayonnaise, to taste
Preparation:
Cooking time:
Dice the carrots, potatoes, cucumbers, eggs. Stir in peas, Season with salt and pepper, add the mayonnaise, stir and eat. Enjoy it!
